CODE OF CONDUCT

NOT YOUNG (AND NOT SO YOUNG?)

SPECTATORS

• Show that you appreciate good sport by clapping loudly and cheering

• Give a warm and generous welcome to both teams

• Cheer for your team but also encourage your opponents

• Never boo anyone, including the officials

• Stay in your seat or place so that you can watch the game from one position and you do not annoy any other spectators

• Always think of other spectators even when you are becoming excited

• Always maintain the high reputation that Schools sport has earned

• Appreciation of good play by both teams

• Recognise skills enthusiasm and sporting behaviour in both teams

• Although you are not playing, remember that you should act in a sporting manner as your school will be judged by your behaviour

• Win, lose or draw, appreciate the efforts of all the players and match officials

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PLAYERS

• Learn and observe the Laws of the Game

• Beat opponents by skill and not by unfair means

• Never argue with the Referee or Linesman

• Retire quickly to 10 yards when a free-kick is given against you

• Do not appeal for throw-ins, off-sides, free-kicks, etc

• Give the ball promptly to opponents for throw-ins, free-kick, etc,

• If an opponent gives you the ball for a throw-in, free-kick, etc, do not take advantage of them being out of position

• Keep your self control at all times and do not retaliate

• Do not overact when your team scores

• Accept victory modestly and defeat graciously, remembering that your

School will be judged by your behaviour
