This
year to celebrate some of the fantastic work that has happened within
the partnership, we are holding a Dacorum School Sports Partnership
Awards Night on the 8 July 2008.
The
venue and sporting personality are yet to be confirmed, but the
event will start with a buffet at 7:00pm and the evening commencing
at 7:30pm
Please
select any categories you would like to nominate your school, pupils,
and or staff for, and submit the nomination form with a brief explanation
of why you think they should win to your School Sports Co-ordinator,
before 23rd May 2008. Nominations received after this date will
not be entered.
Please
also note that the overall winning school will be randomly selected
from the Winning Family School category, and will receive a £500
voucher for sports equipment for their school.

CRITERIA FOR DACORUM SPORTS PARTNERSHIP AWARDS CATEGORIES
2007/2008
Nominations should focus on performance/achievement between September
2007 & July 2008.
• Young Achiever of the year KS2 – 2 x KS2 pupils who
have either represented the school or shown great sportsmanship,
motivation & determination in their chosen sport/s
• Young Achiever of the year KS1 – 2 x KS2 pupils who
have either represented the school or shown great sportsmanship,
motivation & determination in their chosen sport/s
• Play Leader of the Year (Primary)- One boy and one girl
who have shown the most commitment to their playground leader role
and supporting staff in achieving a positive playground environment
• Young School Leader of the Year 11-16 – 2 pupils per
school. These nominees should have supported schools in festivals,
clubs, as playground monitors, and generally achieved a high level
of leadership/commitment within their school
• Young Community Leader of the Year 16-19 – 2 pupils
per school. These nominees should have been volunteering within
a community club, or local school, that they have organised themselves,
or through the step into sport programme. They should have committed
to achieving coaching qualifications, and developing their coaching
potential
• Reward Card Achiever of the Year KS2 – 2 pupils that
have made an outstanding commitment to achieve as many stamps as
they can on their reward card. This person should be someone who
has increased their participation in PE and School Sport as a result
of using their card.
• KS1 Participation Award Achiever of the Year – 2 pupils
that have made an outstanding commitment to achieve the Gold stickers
or reward card stamps (dependant on the scheme you have used) each
week over the period of assessment. This person should be someone
who has increased their participation as a result of doing this
scheme.
• School High Quality Award – A school who is achieving
2 hours High Quality PE and School Sport. Those who have made considerable
effort to ensure that delivery is of High Quality using either the
partnerships posters, or their own innovative approach to monitor
it.
• School Coach/ Adult Supporting Learning Award (non teaching
staff)– Awarded to an individual, who has shown commitment
and dedication to run an out of school hours club for the school
• School OSHL Primary Award – For a member of staff
who regularly gives up their time to run out of school hours clubs
for their pupils.
• School OSHL Secondary Award – For a member of staff
not within the PE department who regularly gives up their time to
run an out of school hours club.
• School Team of the Year – Awarded to the school team
who have consistently demonstrated commitment, dedication and achievement.
• School to Community Award Primary – For the school
that has demonstrated most commitment to developing links with outside
clubs, and supporting pupils to know what is available to them outside
of the school.
• School to Community Award Secondary – For the school
that has demonstrated most commitment to developing links with outside
clubs, and supporting pupils to know what is available to them outside
of the school.
• Special school of the year – For showing the most
commitment to developing PE and School Sport, Club Links, supportive
of the family festivals, and tries where possible to participate
in as many events/activities as achievable
• Family School Winner – Chosen by your SSCo from nominations
received for the school who has supported the partnerships aims
& objectives, attended the most events, enabled their PLT to
achieve the partnerships aims through support and time, attended
CPD courses, positive role models in sport for pupils, worked to
increase school club links, and to achieve the 2 hour High Quality
PE offer. Please note the winning schools from each family will
be placed into a hat and drawn on the night to win a £500
voucher for sports equipment for their school.
